Growing Into Salvation. “Like newborn infants, long for the pure, spiritual milk so that you may grow into salvation.” (1 Peter 2:2) We long for the pure spiritual milk, but we resist the disciplines of silence and prayer. We crowd out the promise of grace upon grace with distraction after distraction. As we approach the end of the Easter season, we will enter the silence together to receive more fully the resurrected Jesus, and settle more deeply into the ministry to which we have been called. Then we may hope to can proclaim more freely “the mighty acts of him who called [us] out of darkness into his marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9)
Leader: Becca Stelle. After 15 years of ministry with the Church of the Saviour community, Becca has recently returned to the Lutheran denomination (ELCA) where she serves as a pastor. Her interest in spiritual formation, together with her work with men and women coming home from incarceration, has deepened her commitment to practices of restorative justice, institutional transformation, and the inward and outward journeys.
